For gender equality in Information Technology
The overall objective of the proposed project is to contribute to innovative and attractive VET practices in the ICT sector. Its specific objective is to build a sustainable multistakeholder network at European level which will actively foster gender mainstreaming in VET for the ICT sector.
Objetivos:
Its operational aims are to:
- Create a comprehensive, virtual resource centre on gender mainstreaming in VET for the ICT sector at European level
- Promote good practices and innovative approaches in VET for the ICT sector regarding gender mainstreaming
- Identify trends of gender mainstreaming in VET for the ICT sector and resulting impacts on VET practice
- Raise awareness, inform and engage stakeholders and women
- Expand the network, exploit its results and set the basis for sustainability.
Actividades:
In order to create a sustainable multistakeholder network on gender-mainstreaming in VET for the ICT sector, the Gender-IT consortium has developed a series of activities that can be categorised in five (5) interrelated areas:
- The ongoing Project Management (WP1) aims at the smooth implementation of the project on time and to budget, and will ensure the fulfilment of the contractual obligations.
- The development activities of the network are incremental and include initial knowledge pooling and research to collect information on the issueat hand (WP2). This will prepare the ground for the development of a benchmarking system and the successive identification of good practices(WP3). Based on the results a peer review system will be developed and piloted in WP4. Finally, WP5 is dedicated to the identification of trends in gender-mainstreaming for VET in the ICT sector and their impacts on VET practice, building on outcomes of WPs2-4.
- In order to maximise the project’s impact and prepare its sustainability, major efforts will go into targeted dissemination and exploitation activities (WPs6&7). A reviewed dissemination plan will detail the production of promotional materials, communication with target groups, liaison with related initiatives, media relations, and event management.
- Quality Assurance and Evaluation (WP8) will be carried out throughout the duration of the project to ensure that the processes used and outputs produced comply with identified standards and meet the targets. It will allow for the timely identification of problems and enable corrective actions.
